In this paper, we describe the proposition for structured radiologic coding system in PACS and HIS. We made the code by 5 steps. First, department code was given “R”, means radiology. And then we made 9 modality codes. - CR is “G”, CT is “C”, MR is “M”and US is “U”, etc.. Third we divided radiologic specials into 10 parts such as Chest, Abdomen, Neuro, Musculoskeletal, Neck and Face, OB/GY, Uro, Breast, Health clinic and Others and gave a single alphabet code. Fourth we gave 3 alphabets for anatomical codes, so 137 codes were created. The last we made the examination code by 3 alphabets. Finally, we made total 1452 order codes and finished structured radiologic coding system. We expect that this coding system will contribute to management of the images in PACS and HIS.
